Define an future autonomous vision for the OEM client brands, targeted at 2030.
The goal was a product vision with physical and digital prototypes, a tech event with suppliers and an AR presentation to showcase the vehicle design.
Concept phase
The design team researched into future trends, lifestyles and ownership models. Sketches were created of interior and exterior themes based around the principles of autonomy and reviews set up to decide the winning concept.
Clay models
1/10 size clays were created of exteriors for critique and theme selection.
Clays were then dressed with dinoc for futher review, scanned into polymodels and rendered in V-Red.
Liason with 3rd party AR studio
In order to view the CAD models in 1:1 scale without building full-scale models, a parallel AR project was carried out.
This involved the construction in the studio of a 6 x 3m “Musion holographic stage” for full size exterior critiques.
Interactive presentations
The deliverables included interactive vision movies explaining the interior / exterior design philosophy , alongside engineering feasibility studies and business case analysis.
VR event
Alongside the physical assets, a Virtual Reality event took place to showcase the completed designs and user experiences including the first drive-up interior / exterior in HTC Vive.
