Investigating new business opportunities

Problem statement

The Chinese OEM client was looking for a series of exciting wearables to enter the smartwatch and accessories market. 

The first task was in-depth research into the trends that apply to this sector.

Gap analysis

The team carried out a SWOT analysis of the current competitors and emerging devices, mapped onto an emotional/interaction quadrant, then overlayed with potential opportunities.

CMF exploration

The team developed the design language and colour and materials strategies as a  co-creation exercise with the client, with the capability to maintain a studio style.

Design development

Finally, a series of product concepts were designed that brought novel wearable experiences to the customer and worked together as a brand story.

The designs were developed to mockup stage with prototyped UX experiences.

Final presentation

The project was presented to a C-Level audience  including the mockups, potential UX, brand positioning statements, key features and user benefits.
